OUR AWARD-WINNING VR MARRIAGE PROPOSAL VIDEO IS DEFINITELY NOT YOUR AVERAGE PROPOSAL VID!
Alex lured his girlfriend Kelly to Zero Latency (a free roaming VR shoot em up experience) to slay some virtual zombies with a small group of friends. Little did Kelly know that Alex had organised for Zero Latency to recreate a virtual representation of her favourite place in the world… The tree outside the front of her grandparent’s house in South Africa, and that was the place he would propose. To bring the video to life and show the transition between the virtual and real world, we used a combination of live motion tracking and rotoscoping.
Our camera captured the whole event and the resulting video quickly went viral, with the view count continuing to skyrocket into the millions. It was featured on news.com.au, The Today Show (AUS), Guten Morgen Deutschland (GER), Good Morning Britain (UK), Globo TV (BRA), EBC News (TW), Right This Minute (USA), Tech Insider (UK), Daily Mail (AUS), Business Insider, Mashable, Huffinton Post, UNILAD, Gizmodo, NowThis News and to this day, is still being shared around the world.
