Vinnies Victoria decided to commemorate their 170th anniversary by hosting an exhibition celebrating their history. They asked us to contribute to the event by designing a timeline of significant Vinnies moments. But being the tech-loving creative types that we are, we wanted to do more than simply design a bland graphic. We instead created an 8 meter long mural with hand drawn illustrations, embedded with 10 animated stories which are triggered using Augmented Reality. The AR component was entirely web-based, which meant an app download was not required. This created a seamless user experience. We also complemented the timeline with four AR portraits which played videos of the subjects who all have meaningful connections with Vinnies.
